I am a Reader in Mobile Systems in the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge. I belong to the Networks and Operating Systems Group.

 

Education and Previous Employments

I received a Diploma di Laurea in Scienze dell'Informazione in 1995 and a PhD in Computer Science in 2001 from the University of Bologna.

From September 1998 to May 1999 I have been a visiting researcher at the Dept. of Computer Science, Washington University in St Louis, MO (USA). 

From August 1999 to February 2008 I have been in the Dept. of Computer Science, University College of London (UK) first as Research Fellow then as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and then a Reader. I joined the Computer Laboratory in March 2008. From October 2005 until September 2010 I was an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellow.

 

Research Interests

I increasingly work on a variety of topics related to the modelling and systems to improve the experience of mobile users. These topics include: 

Mobile Systems; 

Mobility and Social Network Modelling; 

Geo and Temporal Social Network Analysis; 

Mobile Opportunistic Network Protocols; 

Sensing Systems.
